FRIDAY, July 10 -
2PM - Campers begin arriving. Sign Up for the evening showcase or small break out workshops- Marimba or Charcoal drawing w Carrie, Harmonica w Jack- Bring a Harmonica if taking Jack’s workshop.
3PM- Marimba workshop with Carrie Rodlend, limited by number of Marimbas on site.
4 PM - Craft Activities - Hula/ Lei making, Learn to draw the ukulele in charcoal pencil with Carrie. Concurrent with Jacks’s Harmonica workshop, bring your Diatonic Harmonica in the key of C
5PM - Welcome and short announcements, then Happy Hour Showcase (sign up to play) BYOB
Note: Invite your friends to perform as a duet, trio, or quartet. Harmonize, sing in unison, or even out of key. Pick a favorite song and share your joy of singing with the group. Fabulous Prizes.
6PM - Potluck dinner - Protein on BBQ provided. Bring your own cup, plate, or tableware to save on waste.
7:30 PM - Raffle, Beer Cup Percussion with Helen Arntson, concerts by guest artists, campfire songs.
10PM - QUIET TIME Softish unplugged ukulele and singing are welcome
SATURDAY, July 11
7AM - Breakfast on your own- Coffee and hot water for tea available all day
8AM - Beginners sunrise Marimba lesson, informal jam sessions/sharing, sign up sheets available
Pick up Song Sheet to sing for Happy Hour tonight, or write your own verse for the contest (fabulous prizes).
Beginners Marimba lesson. Location to be posted at Registration.
Informal Jam Groups various location in camp, look and join

4:15–5:15 - Movement Activities - Hula Dancing, Singing, or Musical Treasure Hunt [needs leader]
5:30-6.15 - Happy Hour Showcase - Happy Hour Song Contest — bring a verse for the themed song. Duos, trios, or BUG Jam songs to follow.

8:30 AM- Traditional BUG Pancake Breakfast including traditional BUG Pancake Song
10:00 AM - Campers Clean up camps. Volunteers clean up picnic Shelter.
10:15–11:30 - Closing: songs of appreciation led by Avery Hill

Workshop Descriptions (times finalized at camp)
Avery’s Solo Workshops
How to Sing and Play at the Same Time: You've nailed the strum pattern, locked in the chords — then opened your mouth and watched it all unravel. This workshop breaks the problem into layers and rebuilds them through exercises until singing and playing click together.
Rhythm: Your body was your first instrument. This workshop deepens your rhythmic sense — grounding your strumming patterns, time signatures, and overall groove — and touches on how to choose the right strum pattern for a song.
Larry’s Solo Workshops:
Chord Transitions/Up the Neck: Learn smoother ways to move between chords, explore inversions of common GCEA chords up the neck, and apply it all through progressions that show up in nearly every style of music.
Fingerpicking the Uke: Build independent finger movement through basic rolls, then apply them to chords and songs you already know — a reliable way to make familiar material feel fresh and dynamic.
Joint Workshop: Voice Harmonizing: Avery takes the lead, Larry supports - Learn to find and sing harmony lines to a melody — then put it straight into practice together.
Ensemble Workshop: Larry Wyatt leads · Avery Hill supports. Ukestra-style ensemble playing - a great way to make music with others without the pressure of performing solo.
Jack Williams- Harmonica: Jack has played harmonica since 1996. Bring a Diatonic Harmonica in Key of C.
Carrie Rodlend: Marimba and Charcoal Uke Drawing instruments and supplies provided. Dancing permitted.
